Position Summary

This position is responsible for professional level engineering design tasks as assigned. Must be capable for preparing proposals, managing project budgets and schedules, and be capable of participating in other projects as well as those assigned to manage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will assign work to staff to obtain maximum utilization of assigned personnel.

  • Will administer, as needed, and work with the surveying group, engineering group, support services, and administrative group. Will have regular contact with clients and may be the assigned client contact for the company.

  • Will monitor work done by project engineers and surveying/engineering technicians on assigned projects.

  • Coordinates efforts, as needed, with municipal agencies, other consulting engineering and surveying firms, and vendors. Insures that any necessary notification, informational meetings, or other contacts are made.

  • Works with the Coffey staff and clients in a way which will promote the goals of team work, client satisfaction, continual company improvement, and profitability.

  • Will follow established company procedures.

  • Will provide technical support as a member of project teams for other Project Managers.

  • Will prepare written technical reports and project proposals as needed or assigned.

  • Review project invoices of assigned projects.

  • Work with other Project Managers on the following:

    • Performs Professional level work and review of reports, plans, drawing or other instruments of service that require the seal of a professional civil engineer.

    • Performs all or specialized engineering related work based on needs and criteria established by review agencies, clients, government agencies, vendors, utilities, contractors, or other governing parties. These projects may be characterized by unique or complex circumstances.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public. Experience and Education

  • 4+ year’s industry experience.

  • Design experience with Civil 3D and associated hydrology and hydraulic analysis programs. Experience with UDSWMM or HEC-2 desired

  • Professional Engineer in the State of Wyoming/Colorado or ability to obtain one within one year.

  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments.

  • The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. The noise level on the construction site is often loud.
